Who it's for

Same app. Very different problems.

A rider holding company cash in Dubai and a freelancer waiting on a London invoice do not need the same explanation. Pick the situation that looks like yours.

In short

NetWorth+ is a free personal finance app for Android and iPhone, used across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and India. It tracks net worth, budgets, credit cards, loans and shared expenses without connecting to a bank, and can read bank alert SMS on the device with permission so transactions fill themselves in. The pages below describe how it fits particular situations, sharing a flat, sending money home, driving for a delivery platform, freelancing across currencies, running a household, carrying several cards or loans, holding property in another country, earning outside the UAE while living in it, or having arrived in the country last month.

Flatmates & bedspace

Rent cheques, DEWA, groceries and the person who fronts everything. Splits that hold, and a balance that counts as money.

The common thread

One thing every page has in common

These situations look unrelated. They share a constraint that most personal finance software is not built around.

In the Gulf and in India, the apps that automate everything do it by connecting to your bank, and in this part of the world that connection often does not exist, is not offered, or is not something people are willing to grant. So the choice on offer is usually automation you cannot have, or manual entry you will not sustain.

NetWorth+ takes the third route: your bank already sends you an SMS for every transaction, so the app reads those on the phone, with your permission, and puts them in front of you for approval. The text is processed on the device and is not uploaded. No credentials are involved because there is nothing to log into.

What that makes possible

  • Automatic-feeling capture in markets where bank aggregation is unavailable or unwelcome
  • A ledger you own, with no third party holding your banking credentials
  • Multi-currency that respects the rate on the day rather than restating your history
  • Money owed between people counted as part of your actual position, not parked in a separate app

Where this applies

Across the Gulf, and beyond it

The pages above are written from the Gulf outwards, because that is where most of this app's users are and because the specifics matter, a rent cheque in Dubai, a payout cycle in Riyadh, a bank alert format in Doha. Everything on them applies elsewhere too; the examples would simply be different.

NetWorth+ also covers India, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, the United Kingdom and the United States. Currency handling is not limited to the list above: three-decimal dinars and zero-decimal currencies are treated correctly rather than being forced into two decimal places.

Questions

Good to know

Which page should I read if more than one applies?
Most people fit two or three. Start with the one that describes your biggest source of confusion (usually the money that moves between people or between currencies) and the others will mostly repeat the mechanics with different examples.
Is this a different app for each audience?
No, it is one app. The pages exist because a delivery rider and a freelancer need different explanations of the same features, not because the software differs.
Does NetWorth+ work outside the Gulf?
Yes. It is used in India and Southeast Asia and works anywhere, though SMS capture depends on your bank sending transaction alerts by message, which is the norm in the GCC and India and less common in Europe and North America.
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes. NetWorth+ is on the App Store for iPhone, alongside the Android version on Google Play.
What does it cost?
Nothing, and there are no advertisements or advertising SDKs in it.
